The Scribes
The Scribes are an alternative hip hop three piece based in the UK consisting of lyricist/multi instrumentalist Ill Literate, rapper Jonny Steele and beatbox maestro Lacey, whose unique talents have combined to make a much heralded sound quite unlike any other on the scene today and deliver breath taking performances full of energy and off the cuff freestyling guaranteed to move any crowd.

The group have toured extensively across the UK and Europe with artists such as Macklemore, Dizzy Rascal, Lethal Bizzle, Example, Pendulum, De La Soul, Wu Tang Clan's GZA, Wiley, Coolio, Plan B, Goldie, Tinie Tempah, MF Doom and Chase and Status to name (drop) but a few and has seen them grace the stage at Glastonbury Festival, Urban In Ibiza, Bristol O2 Academy, Boomtown, Peterborough Arena, Leopallooza, Gottwood, Beach Break and more across the UK & Europe.

In 2016 the group signed with Reel Me Records and saw the release of “A Story All About How”, a sonically challenging 16 track album that thrives on a perfected blend of poignant lyricism bolstered beautifully by a backdrop of constantly evolving instrumentation.

Their newest material promises to be a defining release for The Scribes and the face of UK hip hop, the material having already won the group recognition in NME's “Glastonbury Guide” and Venue Magazine's “30 best live shows at Glastonbury Festival” as well as a being nominated for the Pure M Magazine “Best UK Act’” award.
